The nation – indeed, the world – was spellbound by the wedding of Prince Harry to Meghan Markle on 21st May 2018. All eyes were on the bride; her dress, her shoes, her tiara, her diamonds! What a feast for the senses. And just when you thought the show was over, there was the evening outfit. A beautiful halter-neck style dress, this time accompanied by a stunning aquamarine ring. Wow!
During the main event, Meghan kept the tradition of “something blue” very subtle – a simple baby-blue sole to her Aquazurra satin shoes. However, in the evening we saw her wearing something much more eye catching in blue – a stunning aquamarine ring, originally owned by Princess Diana.
The simple yet exquisite stone was made to compliment an existing bracelet that Diana already owned. Once separated, Princess Diana often wore the ring in place for her sapphire and diamond engagement ring. The Art Deco style has diamonds on each side. It is believed to be about 30 carats and although an exact value cannot be placed on it, it is thought to be worth around £75,000.
