This year, the Essex Young Farmers’ Show takes place on Sunday, 17th May. Located in Roxwell, near Chelmsford, this fabulous one day show is popular with all the family.
What’s at the Show
There really is something for everyone at this family-friendly event. Shows take place in rings dedicated to livestock, equestrian activities, game fair, keeping you entertained throughout the day. The main ring has a wonderful mix of fun events such as tug-of-war and lawn-mower-racing.
If shopping is your thing, then head to the Rural Crafts and Shopping Marquee. In a new location on the showground this year, here you will find a fabulous mix of local craftsmen and independent retailers. Seres Gifts will be here too, waiting to say hello, so do pop in and find us! Further trade stands placed all around the showground, which offer everything you could want “horticultural” and “agricultural”.
To keep the kids entertained there is a fairground. They can ride on a carousel, or spin around on the tea-cups. There are great selection of food and drink stands for the all-important breaks in the day.
Tickets can be bought online in advance and accompanied children under 16 go free.
Essex Young Farmers
So, you have to be a farmer to be a member of Essex Young Farmers, right? Wrong! You just need to be aged between 16 and 26 and happy to join a young, vital group who are up for fun. As well as a wealth of social events, Young Farmers are committed to raising funds for charities and good causes.
